About Three-Cornered Things

Welcome! I am Zachary Abel, a Mathematics graduate student at MIT.

This blog features discussions of interesting or surprising topics in Mathematics. The posts are intended for a wide range of mathematical backgrounds: while all discussions should be accessible with knowledge of college-level calculus, rarely do they assume so much background from the beginning.

Conversely, I value precision: even when skipping details, I try to provide enough breadcrumbs (or more advanced parentheticals [or bracketicals?]) to properly convey my mathematical meaning. I prefer not to lie, even when doing so would simplify the exposition.

Thank you for visiting, and please enjoy!
